Should the breakthrough of the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., as is most frequently the case, be sought in its circumstantial provisions towards Ukraine? Or possibly a real image of the effectiveness of specified meetings will be found completely, somewhere else, and it is hidden in both words and more or little visible acts. From the position of Poland, the key east state of the NATO flank, it is worth looking at the selected aspects of the conclusions of the gathering of the leaders of 32 associate States. We are talking about the functioning of the system, which was started in 1949 in Washington, D.C., and which we have been a full part of since 1999. Today, it must face Russia's aggressive attitude, but besides the states that aid it. Moreover, it is essential to supply effective and long-term assistance to the fighting Ukraine. Not forgetting that we have a number of global challenges ahead of us, which will besides translate into NATO in the coming decades.
