The Ministry of Defence showed the program of this year's celebrations of the Polish Army. From 13 to 16 August, memorial calls, state ceremonies, parades in Warsaw Wisłostrad and sea parade in Gdynia were planned. This is not just a calendar of ceremonies, but a public sign that Poland must combine the memory of triumph with the real strength of its own army.

Memory begins before the parade

As shown by Ministry of Defence program, the celebration of the Polish Army festival will begin on Thursday 13 August 2026 in Ossów. The head of the MON is to present medals and distinctions there to the most well-deserved soldiers, and in the evening a memorial appeal was planned at the cross commemorating the death of Fr Ignacy Skorupka. It's the right start. Before equipment appears on Wisłostrad, it must be remembered of those who in 1920 stopped the Bolshevik march to the West.

The Polish Army festival is celebrated on 15 August, on the anniversary of the Warsaw Battle. This date is not a decoration. This is 1 of the axes of Polish state history: nation, army, religion and ability to decide independently in the hr of deadly danger. Today's celebrations only make sense if they're not brought down to the show. The defilement is to show that you remember why there is an army.

The importance of this date was further explained on the occasion of the text about The celebration of the Polish Army in ElblągWhere the local dimension of the celebration combined tribute to the army with a lesson of state responsibility. Now the same logic is to be played in Warsaw, Gdynia, Ossów and Radzymin.

Festival of the Polish Army on the streets and by the sea

The main ceremonies will arrive on Saturday 15 August. MON announces a solemn Mass for the Homeland in the Polish Army Department at 8:00 p.m. Then it was planned to lay wreaths, among others, at the monument of Vincent Witos and at the plaque of Gen. Tadeusz Jordan-Rozadowski. At 10:00 a.m. on the Square, a march. Józef Piłsudski is expected to undergo a solemn change of the honorary post before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The most visible point of the celebration will be the military parade on the Warsaw Wisłostrad, scheduled at 12:00. Half an hr earlier, at 11:30 in Gdynia, the sea parade at Kościuszko Square is due to begin. In Warsaw and Gdynia, military educational and cultural zones open from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m.

According to the information provided after the general test, this is to be the biggest parade on the occasion of the Polish Army in the past of Poland. Attendance announced more than 300 units of land equipment and 60 aircraft, including F-35 machines in Polish colours. We have previously pointed out that the largest defilada of the Polish Army is simply a signal for both citizens and those who test the resilience of our country.

The Army as the visible strength of the nation

In specified days it is easy to halt in the picture: tanks, planes, ships, uniforms, banners. The image is crucial due to the fact that the state must sometimes talk with a visible sign of strength. But the defilade itself will not replace the arms manufacture itself, reserves, efficient command, civilian defence and clear safety doctrine. Poland cannot be a country that only watches equipment erstwhile a year and then returns to bureaucratic dispute over everything.

The safety of their families, homes and borders is at stake for Poles. NATO's east flank is not a slogan from the conference. It's our geography. If the state wants to be taken seriously, it must show an army ready, well equipped and rooted in national memory. Without that memory, the military becomes 1 of the institutions. With memory it becomes a form of state continuity.

Therefore, the programme of celebrations is more crucial than the list of hours. Mass for Homeland, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Ossus, Radzymin, Wisłostrad and Gdynia consist of 1 story: freedom costs, sovereignty requires strength, and a state without an army is simply a request addressed to another capitals.

The 1920 lesson is not a museum

The conflict of Warsaw reminds that national realism is not about passiveness. In 1920 Poland did not save itself with declarations. She saved herself from mobilization of the nation, faith, command, soldier's effort and the ability to take risks. Today's defence policy must draw applicable conclusions: the army is to be a deterrent, not a background to speeches.

August 15 will be a holiday, but besides a serious exam. Citizens will see equipment, soldiers and ceremonies. They should besides hear a simple message: Poland wants peace, but peace requires strength. Not individual else's promise. Your own strength.
