The celebrations of Flag Day of the Republic of Poland, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, began at Kazimierz Wielki Square in Brzesk. Then the inhabitants of this tiny Polish town celebrated together with the Polish Army on the grounds around the Regional Cultural and Library Centre.
Minister of National Defence during a speech in the centre of Brzeska recalled that Flag Day of the Republic of Poland For 20 years he has been on the calendar of holidays and patriotic events. He said the date refers to the events of May 2, 1945. “This is the minute erstwhile Polish soldiers on the Berlin triumph column blocked the Polish flag,” he said. He besides mentioned the second flood of the Polish Flag Day celebrations related to the PRL period. “It was on 1 May that the white and red flags were ordered to be displayed, but they were hastily requested that their photographs be taken so that, at the time of the Polish People's Republic, the constitution, which was abolished and prohibited, no white and red flag would fly at Polish homes,” he explained.
Kosiniak-Kamysz besides stressed that "the flag unites, shows where you come from, is simply a symbol of our identity". – There are no more beautiful colours for us Poles than White-red colours. It wasn't, it isn't, and it won't be. This symbol is always in the first place for us: the white-red flag – said Deputy Prime Minister. He besides thanked soldiers of the Polish Army and officers of various uniformed services who service in Poland and on NATO peace missions outside the country. Thank you all for giving your country, for your sacrifice. You're our heroes, we're very arrogant of you. You proudly wear the flag and give us reason to be proud," said the head of the MON.
The Minister besides mentioned that soldiers of the Polish Army are peculiarly afraid with the flag. due to the fact that it's an honor to wear it on your shoulder all day. This is your affiliation, this is your home, this is your homeland. erstwhile you wear a white-red flag on your shoulder and have it in your heart, then you can say proudly that you are serving your homeland," said Kosiniak-Kamish.

During the solemn appeal, the head of the MON honored the persons especially associated with Garnizon Kraków for their large contribution to its development. Among the winners were besides officers who were very well-deserved for the 6th Airborne Brigade, among others during the implementation of the tasks of subsequent changes of the Polish military contingent Kosovo. It is worth noting that the 18th Bielski Launch and Assault Battalion 6 BPD was the first to issue a change in the peace mission after Poland joined NATO.
Deputy Prime Minister gave the ryngraphies: Gen. Mieczysław Bieńkow, erstwhile commander of the 6th Airborne Brigade, 2nd Mechanized Corps and deputy commanders in the Allied Transformative Command of NATO in Norfolk; General of Arms in the remainder of Edward Gruszka, erstwhile commander of peculiar Forces, 2nd Mechanized Corps and commander of the operational types of armed forces; Gen. Dyw. Piotr Patalong, erstwhile commander of the 18th Bielski Desant-Sturm Battalion and peculiar Forces inspector; Gen. Brig. Brig. in the St. Bogdan Tworkowski, erstwhile commander of the 6th Airborne Brigade, Brig. Michał Strzelecki, commander of the 6th Airborne Brigade, Colonel Marcin Syudziński, commander of the 11th Lesser Polish Territorial Defence Brigade, Colonel Artur Wielkowski, Deputy Commander of the 6th Air Force. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz besides posthumously distinguished Bronisław Kwiatkowski, the commander of the operational types of armed forces who died in the Tu-154M plane crash in Smolensk.
The head of the MON besides honored civilians associated with Małopolska, who made a large contribution to Poland's admission to the European Union. Ryngrafy received: Ireneusz Raś, Secretary of State in the Ministry of athletics and Tourism, from 1999 to 2002 manager of the Chancellery of the president of the City of Krakow; Jerzy Miller, erstwhile deputy president of Krakow, mayor of Małopolska, Minister of Interior and Administration, and Prof. Andrzej Gołas, erstwhile president of Krakow, Senator of the 6th word of the Polish Senate.
After the appeal, residents of Brzeska saw the military orchestra execute from Krakow, and then went to the vicinity of the Regional Cultural and Library Centre in Brzesk named after John Paul II at the marketplace Square. It was there that the exhibition of military equipment and promotional stands was prepared by military units and institutions. Residents could see the exhibition and visit the stands that set up: 111 and 113 Light Infantry Battalion, Military Recruitment Center Tarnów, 8th Transport Aviation Base, Nil Military Unit, Civic Education Center, 6th Logistics Battalion 6 BPD, Central Military Sports Team, and Military Publishing Institute.
