Why is that important?
The ultimate Court decision ends Romuald Starosielc's legal way and shuts him down for presidential election. PKW's refusal to registry resulted from the detection of irregularities in more than 34 out of 118 1000 signed endorsements. The SN confirmed that the formal notification requirements are clear and must be met.
What did the ultimate Court say?
The ultimate Court indicated that the electoral code requires a clear indication of the data in the list of signatures supporting the candidate. He did not consider the complainant’s claim of residence to be valid in 15 1000 signatures, but acknowledged that he was right to refuse to issue copies of the signature counting protocols by PKW.
What are the consequences?
The final decision of the SN means that Romuald Starosielec will not be on the list of candidates in the upcoming presidential election. Only candidates registered by PKW who provided the required 100,000 valid signatures of support will stand for the race for President's seat.
Who's gonna run for election?
13 candidates were registered: Artur Bartoszewicz, Magdalena Biejat, Grzegorz Braun, Szymon Hołownia, Marek Jakubiak, Maciej Maciak, Sławomir Mentzen, Karol Nawrocki, Joanna Senyszyn, Krzysztof Stanowski, Rafał Trzaskowski, Marek Woch and Adrian Zandberg.
