LET US BEWARE OF THE “SYNDROM OF THE SCIENTIFIC”

If we happen to be, even as frequently as any another nation, a nation of heroes or the world's top power of spirit, unfortunately, this does not mean that we have specified a condition always.

In 1410 the Polish military force, built for this intent at least from the time of Kazimierz the Great, moved on to a historical trial with the “Krzyżacka twilight”. respective decades of ant work of large Polish diplomacy, mostly formed in the Cracow Academy established in 1364, effectively discouraged the support of the Teutonic Knights of many European knights, on which in the summertime of 1410 they were expected to be armed “guests of the Order”. Our diplomacy carried out the task and thanks to this, the army was a small smaller than the large master and his troops counted for. And Polish not only consisted of people without the remainder filled with the will of victory, but they were besides headed by 1 of the top leaders of Europe at the time. On the eve of the war, he predicted that Poland would declare war and that Zygmunt Luxemburg would decision to Kraków. However, Jagiello knew the creation well and he knew that he expected all armed Poles to be on the another side of the country, going to Poland carelessly and without preparation. And since this mediocrity was besides a coward – 2 determined Polish banners will be frightened, which will stand in his way almost on the confederate border of the kingdom to the horror of the deadly surprise Sigismund. As a result, alternatively of stabbing Poland in the back – an evil ally of the Teutonic Knights, incapable to comprehend what he saw, he fled home in the sight of a fistful of Polish knights, who besides successfully pretended to be tens of them and that in a minute they would charge the Luxembourg army. Meanwhile, on the Polish – Teutonic border Jagiełło made through the Vistula the fastest crossing since Xerxes. Under Grunwald 2 armies faced each other, which no another powers could form. After a fewer hours, 1 of them ceased to exist. Almost all the commanders and another crusaders died. The top conflict of those times ended with a full Polish victory. From that minute on, for a 4th of a millennium no 1 in Europe will be able to question that Poland is 1 of the first powers of the continent.

In the following decades with Polish-Krzywacki relations, there have been different times. Whenever Polish troops went to the Teutonic Knights, they would go to their castles, which would be empty to besiege. They wanted to rebuild their power with fiscal oppression, which knighthood (it was "civil") and the bourgeoisy of the spiritual state led to dreams of a relation with Poland. With not the Teutonic, but our country, in which the rights and freedoms all had greater and taxes were lower. In 1454 representatives of the full nobility and all the cities of the spiritual state came to Kazimierz Jagiellończyk wanting to pay tribute and join the Polish state together with their lands. They besides declared that they would spare neither their own swords nor their own gold if there was a request for an armistice to banish the crusaders.

In the summertime of 1454 the Jagielloan offered to take over what was being given into his hands. His army, however, looked completely different from the 1 his father pulled forty-four years earlier at Grunwald. fewer people in it were experienced knights. Many of the armor of the ancestors was removed from the lamest and alternatively of the helmets, they put straw hats on their heads. Many complained that they were needed more at harvest than on a war expedition. In the mediate of the road, the inexperienced, frequently devoid of combat spirit, and in part the effeminate army stood to force further privileges upon the king. Going slow yet approached Chojnica, where she first saw the enemy. Teutonic troops were twice as tiny as Polish. possibly even little numerous. But they were well equipped, perfectly trained, perfectly organized. And they had truly good commanders. In the meantime, our king, although in all another way truly outstanding, was not a large chief. In the war he knew so small that even after a clash that meant a fast and harsh Polish defeat he did not announcement in time that the only thing he should do was run away. And he was about to die if it wasn't for his sidekicks who saw the horror in time. As we know, the war lasted thirteen years after that until yet it ended with a large Polish triumph and a regulation of the spiritual lands to north-eastern Lenna Poland with the capital in Królewiec.

Stories specified as those with the Chojnicas, which happened forty-four years after the triumphant Grunwald, happened more than once. Our ancestors spread respective times more Swedes under Kircholm or Trzciana than they did, and a fewer decades later they collected whips from Cossacks, Tartars, Moscow, or Swedes that destroyed those after which for good the Republic of Poland did not rise. After the triumphs under Chocim, Vienna or inactive Breeding – the North War has already swept through Poland like a destructive war. The reasons for specified a turn of events were many, but surely 1 of the primates was the fall of the spirit, the will to resist, the power to desire one's own subjectivity. Hussar families, many generations of which were recruited by fearless chief masters of the country's service, capable of crushing respective times more than each other, yet became thin and mostly disappeared. More and more Poles lost religion in themselves, lost their ability to defend themselves against abroad powers. And these powers have grown stronger and stronger. A fewer decades after 1 of the top triumphs of the Polish weapon made at Vienna, the neighbouring powers began to share Polish land. Until Poland is wiped from the map of Europe.

I'm afraid of that thought, but it's coming back to me. Since the large events of the early 1980s, it has now been precisely as many years as it has been between Grunwald and Chojnica. Forty-five years ago, Poles dazzled the planet in the mediate of a totalitarian giant creating 10 million Solidarity. The 1 that, even after the war declared to the nation, was able to make the most powerful anti-communist front in the full past of communist slavery. These were achievements – colossal. Yes, but it's been over forty years since them. Today, the youngest of the heroes of those struggles are about sixty years old. Most are already aged, or – already dead. Don't modern Poles look like Kazimierz Jagiellończyk's army from 1454 today? An army how different from this full of religion in its rations, in its strength, in its victory. How different from the 1 that Jagielloński's father dragged to Grunwald? For are we akin present to these massacres of meetings with John Paul II, to those of our mass strike challenging russian imperialism?

When I scope out to the 1980s with memories, I am always more than certain that then with people as mediocre as Tusk or Trzaskowski, then Poles would have done in 1 day. Nor would there be a meek submission to any Western border directives. This would not only consequence from the power of the spirit we had in the time of the first Solidarity and John Paul II. This would besides consequence in the fact that 30 years after the war there were inactive many of us who remembered and understood well what they were, what they were and what Germany would inactive be. There were many among us aware that if you want something from the west side of Oder from us, it is surely not what is good for us.

Saving Poland requires activity, valor, opposition to slander issued present from most Polish-language newspapers, most Polish-language radio and tv stations, most Polish-language websites. As a consequence of these lies, a large part of Poles do not know what is truly in their vital interest. prof. Andrzej Zybertowicz late stated that both sociological studies and the results of the first circular of presidential elections indicate that about 30 percent of contemporary Poles – “were out of Polishity”. This is the scale of success in our country of UBecistan, which is called the 3rd Republic. specified terrible havoc was done here by past class liquidators, creators of education of shame, post-communist opinion leaders equipped with tools to teach Poles Polishness. Jerzy Urban, 1 of the first perfect patrons of what began to happen in Poland in 1989, announced that his highest goal was "the eventual mother...not the Polish people". For many years, he pursued this goal with a weekly circulation of more than half a million copies. And he was only 1 of many media outlets working only to make Poles unlearned the ability to separate g... from curd. This is where we have phenomena in Poland that in Poland have never dreamed before. Social movements, fashions, attitudes, media, organizations that can be defined by 1 word: cadence. And so 1 can call the state in which there are many Poles today.

Today, Poles are very different from Poles from the 1980s. And if that is the case – can contemporary Poles see the dangers and, above all, face them, are they able to meet them? Is it not just that present we had the "December Condition" as many years ago as we were present from the time of the first Solidarity? And that present we are more like the indifferent, the weak, the effeminate, who, at the hands of the weaker than them, collected a beating under the Chojnicas?

After the Chojnices, however, there came rather quite a few manhood, subsequent battles were won, in Polish hands (not due to weapons, but due to gold) was Malbork. Therefore, I am comforted that possibly we had these contractual Chojnice in the fall election of 2023. possibly we've already had this modern “holy beating” behind us. And that we can win again. What it means present – to elect the president of Poland who will service Poland. We'll see about that on June 1. The choice depends on whether Poland will bounce from bottom or accelerate towards another national disaster.
