Construction of a fresh production hall, robotic technology lines, retrofitting of the plant's camp – these are any of the announced results of the contract concluded present between PGZ-et and the Mechanic Works "Bumar-Łabada". “The plant will begin to carry out investments of strategical importance for the safety of our country”, said Monika Kruczek, president of Bumaru-Łabada.
Investment agreement between Polish Armed Forces Group SA a Mechanic plants ‘Bumar-Łabada’ SA concerns the implementation of a strategical task financed by the Capital Investment Fund of PLN 850 million. – As part of the project, we will launch a production centre for modern armored vehicles, both wheeled and caterpillar. At the same time, we will hold the anticipation of supporting and securing additional production of cannonohabic Krab," said Bumaru-Łabada president Monika Kruczek.
In parallel, extended modernisation works will be carried out in the plant infrastructure, affecting increased energy efficiency and production efficiency. Thanks to the implementation of the Bumar-Łabada project, it will importantly increase its capabilities in the production of combat vehicles and chassis for artillery systems, thereby strengthening the defence possible of our country.
Adam Leszkiewicz, the president of the Polish Armed Forces Group, who present signed a contract with ZM Bumar-Łabada in Gliwice, announced that the first tranche of PLN 350 million will go to the company in October. The investment process is expected to be completed in 2028. presently more than 800 people work in the plant, and thanks to fresh investments this number is expected to increase to 1400.
– This is besides the way to enter fresh technologies, including the K2 technology that is so crucial to us," stressed president Kruczek. Let us remind you that on 1 August at the office of the Mechanical Plant “Bumar-Łabada” SA concluded a second executive agreement for the acquisition of 180 K2 tanks. The contract worth about $6.5 billion assumes the transportation of 116 vehicles to the Polish army in the erstwhile K2GF configuration, as well as the production of 64 tanks in the K2PL version. Most of this (61) will be built between 2028 and 2030 in Gliwice. Additionally, the Polish Army will receive 81 accompanying vehicles on the K2 chassis, co-designed, among others, by the Mechanical Plant “Bumar-Łabada”.
