**Gazeta Polska all day: “The government does not want Himars. They defended Ukraine”**
"Another contract goes to the basket. This government squanders the historical chances of building 1 of the strongest armies in NATO in Poland. In little than a year, contracts for K2 tanks, cannonhaubice K9 and Krab were discontinued. Now there are any himars, or artillery capable of damaging targets even 300 km, written yesterday by Mariusz Błaszczak, erstwhile Minister of Defence. The first Himars rocket launchers - 18 to combat units and 2 to training - MON ordered in 2019 for $414 million. The deliveries from this contract began in 2023. The first weapon went to the unit in Węgorzew (Warmia-Mazury Province). The sets are mounted on American trucks and have a fire-driving strategy from the US. In 2022, MON requested the US to sale another 486 sets of Himars. In February 2023 the State Department notified the U.S. legislature of its intention to sale 468 launchers to Poland on Polish trucks Jelcz and integration into the Polish strategy of driving Topaz fire and 18 launchers on American cars. In September 2023, the contract was approved by the then head of MON Mariusz Błaszczak.”
