**Gazeta Wyborcza:‘MON: Speech the Ottawa Convention’**
"The ban on the usage of anti-personnel mines is intended to defend civilians, but Poland and the Baltic countries want to give it up to strengthen the defence of the NATO east flank. The defence ministers of these countries unanimously urge the termination of the Ottawa Convention, stressing that they are prepared to usage all means to defend the territory. They point to a threat from Russia and the request to increase defence capabilities. Prime Minister Donald Tusk mentioned the possible withdrawal of Poland from the convention, which she ratified in 2012. The treaty, adopted in 1997, was signed by 163 countries, but not by Russia, USA or China, among others.
