"Norymber singers", i.e. German champions [Opera in Stuttgart]

Elisabeth Stöppler directed Richard Wagner at the Stuttgart Opera. An opera peculiarly burdened historically as a favourite work of Nazi propaganda. Her performance has a feminist position and clear literary ambitions. The manager recalls Paul Celan's words: "Death is the master of Germany."
