The association of Slovak carriers is waiting until Thursday to respond to the Ministry of Transport. After this date, it will decide whether to launch a protest on the border with Ukraine, modelled on the strike of carriers in Poland from Friday.
On Tuesday, the threat of blocking the main border crossing of the Slovak-Ukrainian border crossing, i.e. Vysne Nemecke – Uzhhorod, was expressed by Stanislav Skala, head of the Slovak association of UNAS carriers. A condition to avoid blocking is to take action to restrict competition from Ukrainian drivers. It is 1 of the only passages open to truck traffic between Slovakia and Ukraine.
The scale stressed that by Thursday, the Slovak Ministry of Transport was expected to respond, and after that date, it would make a final decision on the possible launch of the protest from Friday. He besides recalled the forthcoming gathering of EU transport ministers in Brussels on 4 December, but expressed doubts about the anticipation of a breakthrough, noting the deficiency of will from Ukraine and the European Commission.

The warnings of Polish politicians towards Ukraine regarding the blockade of membership of the European Union, due to discrimination against Polish transport, besides highlighted the discussion.
The accusations from Ukrainian media suggesting unions of protesting Polish carriers with Russia are powerfully demented by Polish transport. These allegations, like attempts to discredit the organizers of the protest, besides appear in Polish media.
The protest of Polish carriers on the border with Ukraine lasts from 6 November and includes border crossing blocks in Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodships. The carriers request that the authorisation strategy for Ukrainian carriers be restored and that different changes be made to the rules for the transport of ECMT.
