The investigation is the consequence of the study by Konrad Frysztak, associate of the Civic Coalition, who, based on reports from Onet, claims that despite late payments, the Radom mill continued to send weapons to the US. In his opinion, the decisions of erstwhile president Wojciech Arndt and current president Seweryn Figurski were unfavourable to the company.

It is worth noting that the transaction between the weapon mill and the Arms of America was concluded in 2023 and afraid the sale of weapons at a sum of $1.2 million. The amendment of the terms of the agreement introduced a deferred payment mechanics that was beneficial to the American partner. At the same time, the Americans immediately gained ownership of the weapons, which could put the Weapons mill at financial risk.

The president of the Department of Arms, Seweryn Figurski denied media reports, stated that the company did not lose even 1 dollar, but on the contrary – it earned millions of zlotys. Figurski explains that the change in the method of accounting was dictated by good cooperation, and payment delays resulted from the slowdown of the civilian weapons marketplace in America. He assured that the debt was gradually repaid.

According to the Central Statistical Office, in 2022 exports of arms from Poland amounted to over $1.3 billion, which represented an increase of 15% compared to the erstwhile year. The import of arms to Poland amounted to over $430 million, a 10% decrease from the erstwhile year.

It is worth noting that the arms manufacture in Poland is 1 of the most developed in Europe, and the weapon mill Archer is 1 of the largest arms producers in the country. The company employs more than 1,500 people and produces more than 100,000 weapons each year.

The investigation into the weapon mill is inactive under way, but it can already be said that this issue is crucial for the Polish economy and the defence industry. The result of the investigation will affect the position of the company in the market, as well as the financial safety of its partners and contractors.

In the following weeks and months, we will observe the improvement of the case and investigation, as well as the reactions of the board and authorities to the reports and results of the proceedings. As always, safety and honesty are the most important, and this issue should be carefully investigated and resolved.
