Skiba: Political odyssey continues, meaning... Drama Zero

Zbigniew Ziobry's political odyssey beats ratings, surpassing even Netflix's top productions in rankings. In fact, we have everything that is characteristic of good crime comedy, and above all, there is simply a comic hero with the voice of a castrate, who may not inspire sympathy, but surely awakens the viewer's pity. Translations, excuses, that he never tells the truth, becomes something like his business card. The viewer is incapable to imagine this individual saying something meaningful, which in addition would not be boasting or fabricating.

Of course, in the past of comedy, we had a full array of specified heroes. The character Zbigniew Ziobry refers, of course, to pretend warriors from the Roman comedy Plauta, later there were characters from the comedy dell’arte, but in the Polish drama we besides have specified people. The most celebrated of course is Papkin from “Revenge” by Fredry. By praising his combat achievements – being a specified combinator and coward – he went to the classics of Polish comedy.

In “Drama Zero”, in addition to a well-chosen hero, there is besides a fast action, an interesting intrigue, comic dialogues and a situation joke. The action, like from James Bond movies, moves from place to place – first Poland, then Hungary and America, and then Russia and Belarus. Only Antarctica is missing – but who knows what will happen in the next sequels, due to the fact that we are certain that they will rise.

In the performance we besides have highly interesting supporting figures, and this is simply a frequent deficiency of sight of authors who, focusing on the foreground character, neglect the background. In "Drama Zero" the background is highly colorful.

Marcin Romanowski, called to be funnier, “a Vice Minister”, is simply a character as comical as the main character. Related to the mysterious sect Opus Dei, it is simply a perfect complement to Zbigniew. Together, they make a delicious duet of wankers whose ability to get active in idiotic scandals exceeds the limits set years ago by Flip and Flap.

Like in any comedy of mistakes, here besides we have a series of comic disguises. The duo of frauds then pretends to be politicians first, then gourmets of Hungarian stew and then pretend journalists of tv Republika. And all this just to rob the victims of the crimes that the Justice Fund was expected to serve.

The author of the script besides made certain that a full scope of their allies and enemies were surrounded by affairs. So we have obese as the National Stadium editor Sakiewicz, tv propaganda and grant collector. We have Minister Żurek, who, despite threats and slanders, issues further edicts and warrants. And if this comedy – which happens in front of our eyes like a car accident on the road – was a performance, for example, in the Warsaw Square Theatre, I would give it with a clear conscience the highest rating in the theatre ranking in “Angora” – it would be Storm, but, unfortunately, it takes place in real life and someway at our expense – I justice it as Dno. The heroes of this drama have earned it fairly. Everyone.

To the horror of the spectators, we are bound to face further revelations, but isn't our life all day a comedy or a dream like Calderon's celebrated drama?
