As of 1 January 2026, the Polish administrative map will gain six fresh cities. The towns of Janów Podlaski, Stanisławów, Malkinia Górna, Staroźreby, Branice and Janów will officially receive the position of the city. But this is not the end of change. The municipality of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie will undergo historical metamorphosis, changing its name to Bratian. specified decisions are based on the draft regulation prepared by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
