A tragic weekend on the Silesian roads ended with 3 people dying as a consequence of traffic accidents. The Provincial Centre for Crisis Management in Katowice reported a series of events that took place from Saturday to Sunday morning. Due to the dramatic situation of the Silesian police announced a "black road alert". This is 1 of the worst weekends on the roads of the region.
The first fatal accident occurred on Saturday before 8:00 a.m. in Opatów in the territory of Klobuck. A passenger car fell off the road and hit a tree. The driver didn't last the crash.
On Saturday around 22.15 in Katowice there was a dramatic event at Murckowska Street. The passenger car entered the Łąka Pond in the recreational area of the 3 pond valley complex.
Rescue in the joint
The vehicle was completely underwater, about 15 metres from the shore. After midnight, a specialist water and dive rescue group of the State Fire Service extracted a man without life.
The 3rd fatal accident occurred before the 4th Sunday in Pyskowice on Gliwice Street. The passenger car fell off the road and hit a concrete culvert on the 901. After extracting the driver from the vehicle, the doctor found a man dead.
More injuries
Before the first Sunday, 2 passenger cars collided in Gruszewski Street. 5 people were injured and transported to the hospital.
After 4 o'clock in the morning in the town of Zagreb in Raciborski territory on the road number 935 the car fell into a roadside ditch. 4 people were injured and were hospitalized.
Bus Collision
On Saturday around 17th in Chorzów on Katowice Street, a passenger car and bus collided in the Parkowa Street area. 3 Ukrainian citizens from the passenger car and driving the Georgian bus were safely injured.
Due to fatal road accidents, the Silesian police are announcing a "black road alert". This is simply a message published in social media and local radio stations: "A man just died on the roads of the Silesian Voivodeship. I appeal, lower speed, be careful, remember, you only have 1 life."
The alert is part of a road safety-related action launched during a long June weekend. Police officers focus on velocity measurements and driver sobriety.
