Today there are many updates from the Toresk direction

Here the Russians made crucial advancement in the fight for fresh York City and placed Ukrainian defenders in siege at the local chemical factory
In response, Ukrainian command deployed an elite special-purpose brigade 12. The Azov Brigade, which resulted in a dramatic change and liberation of the most fortified part of the city

Previously, Russian forces took control of the blockage territory in the western part of the city, which was an crucial gain, given the nature of the site.
Other areas under Ukrainian control are mainly composed of tiny residential houses surrounding the industrial zone.
Thanks to the blocks providing the Russians with a perfect view and fire control over low-lying residential areas, Ukrainian positions became increasingly indefensible.
The deficiency of fortified defence in the housing sector forced Ukrainian forces to consolidate in their only remaining fortress – heavy fortified chemical plants.

The Russians were able to advance effectively, utilizing their fire control and reflection points from the blocks, combined with a numerical advantage and a large fire force to push the Ukrainians back towards chemical plants.
However, their momentum was short-lived due to the fact that Ukrainian forces rapidly fortified their positions around the industrial zone, stopping the Russian attack just before the plant.
Ukrainians utilized strong defence structures of the plant to withstand the Russian attack, preventing further Russian industrial sector penetration.

New York chemical plants offered immense defence benefits that played a key function in stopping the Russian attack.
The tall mill buildings, built of concrete and reinforced materials, made them highly resistant to Russian artillery and air attacks.
These structures besides served as valuable reflection points for Ukrainian forces, allowing them to detect Russian movements around the mill and disrupt any planned attacks with precise fire.
Moreover, given the advanced economical importance of the mill in russian times, it is likely to contain underground bunkers, providing Ukrainian soldiers with the essential protection against air strikes and adding another layer of defence in the ongoing battle.

The area surrounding fresh York chemical plants further strengthens their defensive position.
In the west, the River Krywij Torec and the large pond make natural barriers that would slow down any Russian attack, leaving attacking forces exposed to concentrated Ukrainian fire while attempting to exceed.
In the east, outside the power plant, there is simply a vast open area close the railway tracks
Here, all Russian assault units would be exposed to hidden Ukrainian fire from well defended positions, making an attack through this open area highly dangerous and costly for attackers.
These geographical features importantly strengthen Ukrainian defence strategy, creating barrage points and opportunities to inflict dense losses on Russian forces.

While Ukrainian units in the industrial region maintained strong positions, The Russians chose to avoid direct attacks and alternatively tried to deprive them of ammunition and reinforcements.
Ukrainian command considered this a pressing issue due to the fact that forces and positions in chemical plants played a key function in defending Torecka's western flank.
Therefore, elements of the Twelveth peculiar Destiny Brigade were deployed to relieve Ukrainian soldiers in chemical plants and establish a unchangeable supply line to keep defence.

The 12th Azov peculiar Destiny Brigade consists of veterans who played a key function in the conflict of Mariupol and the War of Donbas until 2022, making them 1 of the most elite and trained soldiers of the Ukrainian army.
After a series of successful prisoner exchanges, these experienced soldiers were reorganized into a brigade, presently commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Denys Prokopenko, erstwhile commander of the first Azov regiment
His leadership, along with the experience of the fighting brigade, importantly strengthens Ukrainian defence efforts in Toreck.
