On July 7, 2024, the French electoral stations were closed and euphoria did not detonate in the National Unity Staff. The Marine Le Pen organization did not accomplish the historical success that gave it election polls. The French democracy was saved by 3 factors: the fear of leftist and liberals, which was horrified by the possible regulation of Le Pen (the attendance reached more than 60%), election ordination (in France, elections to the parliament are held in 2 turn systems, in addition, there are single-mandate electoral districts) and the knowing of liberals and leftist people, which resembled both the Polish legislature Pact and the "smart vote" - the strategy which Alexey Navalny wanted to defeat 1 Russia. In another words: you gotta vote for anyone in your territory who has a chance to defeat the National Unity candidate.
Here are the exit poll results:
We callback Leszek Turkiewicz's text a fewer weeks ago, which explains what happened present in France:
The sanitary cordon around the National Unity broke Éric Ciotti, the first head of the Gaullist Party, the Republican chief who supported the alliance with Marine Le Pen in the accelerated parliamentary elections announced by Emmanuel Macron. The president called this declaration a pact with the devil, and the Home Minister Gérald Darmanin compared to signing the Munich Agreement with Hitler in 1938. Ciotti was day-to-day excluded from the organization by her political office, which he did not recognise, declaring that "the decision has no legal power", and remains at the head of Republicans, a group continuing under different names of Gaullist traditions, the movement for many years ruling France, from which the Presidents of Pompidou, Chirac and Sarkozy came. Le Pen welcomed the breach of the cordon, “which led to our failure in many elections.” For years, she has led a strategy to de-demonise the far-right National Unity, the erstwhile National Front, founded by her father Jean-Marie Le Pen.
– Masks are down – stated Macron at a press conference after the United Nations won the European elections with a consequence of over 30% of the votes against 15% of the next presidential organization classification called Rebirth. Following the loss, Macron dissolved the National Assembly (parliament), announcing the decision to set up an early parliamentary election, the first of which will be held on June 30 and the second on July 7. – They will have the consequences most crucial for France and the French in the past of the V Republic. Their stake is what the French people will become over the next years and decades. said Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire.
Extreme fever is rising. extremist more than Marine Le Pen Éric Zemmour, the head of the Reconquista (5.5%) in the EP election, ruled Le Pen's niece Marion Maréchal out of his party, due to the increasing differences between them over forms of support and possible merger of forces with the National Unification on 30 June. On the left, socialists, Greens, communists and another extremists form a “people's front”. The name refers to the historical formation of the 1930s in consequence to NSDAP's taking over power in Germany and the emergence in popularity of fascist ideas. The People's Front then established at the initiative of the Communists held power in France from 1936 to 1937. – Today Léon Blum would fall in his grave, seeing this front He criticized Macron's left, and especially France Unrestrained, accusing Mélenchon's group of anti-Semitism and anti-Parlamentism (Melenchon would like to appoint the current V Republic, the 6th Republic, although he is not rather certain what he is after. This reminds us of the Polish word for construction of the IV RP – Jan Rojewski).
The Presidential organization of Rebirth and its allies (MoDem and Horizons) go to the election under the slogan: “Together for the Republic”, referring to the erstwhile Coalition Together!, which in 2022 did not win an absolute majority. The strategical committee was headed by 35-year-old Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who on the first run journey went to the Pas-de-Calais region, i.e. the bastion of the far right. There, he stated that he accepted the tv debate with 28-year-old Jordan Bardella, the head of the National Unity, of which he is simply a candidate for Prime Minister (Marine Le Pen since the 2022 presidential election remains an informal leader of the party), as well as with Jean---Luc Mélenchon, if he becomes a candidate for left-wing alliance to be Prime Minister.
According to a poll published by BFMTV, 31 percent of French people want to vote for the National Assembly (as many as in the EP elections), 28 percent for the left-wing alliance, 18 percent for the presidential coalition, and 6.5 percent for Republicans. The survey concerns the first circular of parliamentary elections, which in France are not proportional and the majority; they take place in 2 rounds in single-mandate districts. Hence this sanitary cordon was so important, which inactive in the penultimate elections effectively blocked the way to the French parliament in the second circular of the largest Marine Le Pen organization (it won in most departments, winning only 2 tickets and 42 to the Europarliament).
As it will be on 7 July, it is hard to get out, but 43 percent of the French expressed the belief that in the second circular the Le Pen organization would win, and only 10 percent believed in the triumph of the Macron coalition and the same in the alliance of the left. What's it gonna be? any saw in president the pyroman who set fire to the Republic erstwhile he took Bardella's challenge erstwhile this provocative call for him to dissolve parliament. Macro did it, but he was not guided by political madness, but by a calculated political game. hazard is his mode of action. Either infirmity with expanding extremism or open confrontation with it. Either a broad coalition including the ideas of social democrats, the right wing of Gaullists and environmentalists, or the co-habitation of the president and government from different political camps (three times it had already taken place and never ended in presidency for the ruling camp). So, "either national populism or democratic heroism." The decision will take place in the spring of 2027, erstwhile a fresh presidential monarch will appear in the Elysée Palace. And today, in Republic Square, he whistles, sings, shouts. Flags and slogans mix. 1 of them is “1933 and 2024. Fascism almost in power”. Well, there's definitely going to be a sequel.
