The Italian government wants to release as many as 10,000 people, or about 15% of all prisoners. The controversial thought is to respond to the increasing problem of overcrowding criminal establishments. The thought raises quite a few emotions, while the Italian Ministry of Justice has set up a peculiar unit to coordinate the planned actions.
