‘No Russian units entered the region. The enemy tries to enter the Sumi circuit in separate groups, but thanks to our Armed Forces, Defence Forces, utilizing air and rocket attacks, these groups are destroyed," Artiuch said.
"We evidence 100-150 attacks all day"
The head of the Suma Oblast Military Administration added that in the 5 km region at the border with Russia practically no inhabitants. For safety reasons, the evacuation of the towns located there was announced in 2023.
According to Artiuch, the Russians are intensifying the shelling of the Sum Region, increasingly utilizing drones.
"We study 100-150 attacks all day. Last year we had the same data, but the means of robbery changed. Today, as a consequence of an attack in Krasnopilska municipality, a man was injured and the car was destroyed. The Russians massively utilize FPV drones for attacks, in peculiar fibre optic drones, which are harder to detect. However, our military is working on ways to counter these enemy measures too," Artiuch said.
The Russians are trying to break the Ukrainian defence line close Suja in the Russian Kursk Oblast, which is adjacent to the Ukrainian Sumic Oblast. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that for now there is no threat to the environment of Ukrainian troops in occupied Russian territories.
