On Tuesday, Typhoon fighters were called in to intercept Russian Il-20M intelligence aircraft. 2 days later, 2 British fighters intercepted an unknown machine. leaving Kaliningrad airspace.
Undersecretary of State for the Armed Forces Luke Pollard, quoted by Reuter's agency, said that in the face of the increasing aggression from Russia and the resulting threats Britain is trying to calm its allies, scare off your opponents and take care of your own national security.
Russian provocations
"This mission shows our ability to act side by side with a fresh NATO member, Sweden, and to defend the alliance's airspace anywhere and at any time, thereby ensuring safety in the country and abroad" - he stated in a statement.
