The incursion of Russian drones over Poland in September 2025 provoked a fast reaction from NATO. Dutch defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans, in an interview with PAP, confirmed the commitment of Dutch forces, praising the F-35 pilots for their "fantastic work" in combating the threat. At the same time, Brekelmans emphasizes the key lesson of this incident: NATO urgently needs to invest in cheaper, more effective anti-drone systems, following the example of Ukrainian solutions. The Netherlands is sending equipment and soldiers to Polish, but is calling on allies to importantly increase defence spending and independence.
