Petersburg news service Fontanka reported that police searched Strojkin's flat in the central Admiralteysky territory on Wednesday as part of a criminal case.
Musician “dropped from the window”
The musician was facing up to 20 years in prison. Authorities accused him of participating in a terrorist organization for allegedly supporting the Ukrainian army. During the search of the apartment, the 59-year-old was to "fall out of the window".
“He was last seen alive on the 10th level erstwhile he went to the kitchen to drink water,” writes Fontanka. Then the man was to “rapidly open the window and commit an irreversible act.”
Prokremlian tabloid “Komsomolskaya Truth” stated that a preliminary investigation of Strojkin's death is being conducted. The man was described as a “ural bard”, his works were identified with Soviet cultural thawing of the 1960s.
