According to information provided by the Ukrainian command, on 1 March the Russians attacked with the aid of a drone ground in Cherkasy in the Djepropetrovsk Oblast. Ukrainian soldiers of the 157th Self-Mechanized Brigade were stationed there.

"Tragedy at the camp is simply a terrible consequence of an enemy attack. War requires fast decisions, work and fresh safety standards, otherwise we will lose more than we have," wrote the commander of the ground troops on Monday Ukraine General Mikhail Drapaty, confirming the deaths of soldiers during the appeal.

The general did not uncover how many soldiers were killed as a consequence of the Russian attack. He reported that he had appointed a commission to analyse the incident. From the information that the Ukrainian fact reached, even a fewer twelve Ukrainian soldiers may have been killed during the attack and about a 100 military soldiers were injured.

“I will request the harshest punishment. Those who proceed to carry out their duties carelessly and formally during the years of war, those who “bring” the military into outdated procedures, neglecting its safety, those who defend themselves not in combat but in persecuting their subordinates—they are all a disgrace to the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, stressed Drapaty.

Violent Russian attack on Ukrainian ground

Volunteer Serhij Sternenko reported that the tragedy occurred within 100-130 km from the front line, and the attack was carried out by a Russian drone. "It has not been shot down due to the fact that the full strategy (air defense) has not yet been implemented. We pay besides much for specified negligence,” he wrote in Telegram.

The attack was besides confirmed by MP Marian Bezuhel. "Another death of soldiers due to arrival (drone) during the appeal. Appels are held all day. Nobody's being punished for that. What did you expect? As long as the russian forces rule, people will die due to their stupidity and inability to adapt to fresh realities," she wrote on Facebook.
