Reflections on the Word of Life Lok 24, 46-47

"Christ must have suffered and risen on the 3rd day,

in His name, all nations

was preached repentance and forgiveness of sins”

Who said these words and where? On Sunday evening, Jesus spoke to the apostles in Zion. There, 3 days earlier on Thursday evening, Jesus besides held the Last Supper. The resurrected Jesus reminds the amazed apostles that he had repeatedly foretold to them that he would endure and that he would be resurrected on the 3rd day. It was only erstwhile this prophecy was fulfilled that the apostles ’ eyes opened.

Jesus then says that in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preachedAll nations. But in order to receive forgiveness of sins, we must meet 1 condition, which is repentance. This includes the decision to fight sin, seeking liberation from his bondage and from the bondage of evil habits. The forgiveness of sins is related to the name of Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross, on which through his suffering and death He offered a sacrifice of redemption for our sins. On our side, we request penance. This means that man recognizes his sin before himself and before God and believes in God's love that the boy of God, the actual God and the actual Man, has conquered sin and opened the way for us to the Kingdom of Heaven, to eternal happiness, which never ends. The condition to attain eternal happiness is repentance for forgiveness of sins. Jesus is the only Savior and Redeemer. Christ, who died and rose from the dead, gave this joyful news to the apostles!
