These include students, entrepreneurs, administrative staff, but above all – patriots. Nearly a 100 candidates applied for the last incarnation for basic training this year to the 6th Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade. The next 2 weeks will be in the barracks.
Saturday, 7:00 p.m. - Volunteers were already on standby waiting outside the gate of the military unit in Radom. By crossing it they left their families, civilian life, comfort and passion for discipline, binding regulations and intense effort - they began basic training. The day of incarnation was for them, first of all, sometimes to complete the essential formalities - completion of documents, collection of uniforms or physical fitness test.
Now, for 16 days, they will learn the basics of green tactics, field medicine, shooting, topography and drills. The level of cognition acquired will verify the exam crowning training - tactical loop. Completing it with affirmative results will become a pass for volunteers to take a military oath and for active service.
The WOT soldier's training cycle lasts 3 years and consists of individual, specialized and rapping training. After that, the soldier reaches full combat readiness.
Each incarnation is characterized by diversity. There are people of different ages, with different educations, working in many different professions. They besides disagree in their motivations for joining the Territorial Defence Army. It is simply a desire to test its capabilities, to fulfill children's dreams, to proceed the way chosen so far, e.g. teaching in uniform class. However, the common denominator is always a willingness to prepare to defend the Homeland, if necessary.
I decided to join the Territorial defence Army to test myself, increase my intellectual immunity, but besides to act for society. - I've been curious in the military since I was a kid, a colleague late joined the WOT and infected me with it, and I thought I wanted to effort my strength too. - I was in uniform and I want to proceed my military adventure. "At my place, she decided to be trained, the times are as they are, and I would just like to be trained, to have this cognition and skills needed in a crisis situation," said the newly-incarnate soldiers.
This year, alongside November, 3 more incarnations took place. In total, in 2025 the unit's gates exceeded over half a 1000 Territorials. Next year, the first basic training will begin on 17 January and will take place as part of the nationwide task “Ferie from WOT”.
