A gathering is scheduled for 15 May in Istanbul, with the aim of winning peace in Ukraine. Russian president Vladimir Putin expressed readiness for direct talks, and the head of the cabinet of the president of Ukraine announced that this would be possible only if Russia accepted a 30-day ceasefire.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski personally confirmed his desire to debate in Turkey, but only if Putin himself, alternatively than his envoys, comes to the meeting.
