Taylor (a prof. of political discipline and manager of the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University) points out, in an article by The Russian Silovici: 20 Years of Scholarship, investigation on "forces" took place in the early 2000s. This happened, among another things, thanks to Russian sociologist Olga Kryshtanovska, who defined Vladimir Putin's government as "militocracy".
