Started 24.02.2022. Full-scale war against Ukraine exposed many shortages of the Russian Federation's armed forces, and their capabilities proved to be much more limited than most analysts estimated. In the first stage, the Russian Federation's armed forces failed to seize Kiev, and the Ukrainian controversy caused crucial losses to the Russian side in the equipment. Russia, on the another hand, managed to occupy selected key cities in the south in early March 2022: Cherson, Melitopol and - after long urban battles - Mariupol, too, in May.
