The full situation was reported by Bloomberg's press agency in the first half of March. The case concerns the transportation by EVRAZ North America Inc. (owned by EVRAZ plc holding company), between 2017 and 2019 of armored plates utilized to manufacture lightly armoured military vehicles, including those utilized by the American Army. They were produced in the steelworks in Portland. The material provided was to have falsified test results regarding its hardness, for which the workers of the Portland plant themselves were to be responsible. This is about 12,800 plates, where in any cases despite visible cracks they have been approved for use.
