In 2023, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported that the organization “One Russia” began investing in the battalion “Española”. Why the Spanish name? The battalion's commander was football kibol from Moscow, Stanisław Orlov, nicknamed “Spain”, participating in Russia's operations against Ukraine since 2014. Behind the battalion are the Chanin brothers, 1 of whom was a kibol and the another a president of 1 of Moscow's local governments. Their political influences grew, so “Española” became a military branch to which soldiers from the Chuligan communities of Spartaka Moscow and CSKA Moscow are recruited.
