On Tuesday, Radosław Sikorski was a guest of the 3rd Polish Radio Program. The head of Polish diplomacy indicated that "from what he knows, there is no extraordinary movement of migrants from Germany to Poland at the border".
The border situation is expected to be 1 of the topics discussed at today's government meeting. The head of the MFA said he expected "hard decisions" during this meeting.
Sikorski about the situation on the border with Germany
When asked if it was about restoring control on the Polish-German border, he replied, "Please wait (...), I anticipate specified decisions to be made". He recalled that, in accordance with the Schengen Treaty, checks could be temporarily restored.
Radosław Sikorski besides stressed that the communicative about the mass "draw" of refugees from Africa and the mediate East by Germany is exaggerated. He informed us that he had discussed the issue with the Ministry of abroad Affairs. He thinks it could be "single cases."
– If at all, it is more about the fact that they are mostly Ukrainians, Belarusians who have approval to be in Poland. They effort to get into Germany and are not allowed in," added the minister.
According to Sikorski, the steps taken by the opposition on the western border are "psychosis induced for political purposes". Opposition MPs print online information about migrants residing in Poland, who, according to them, carry German border services in violation of procedures.
Citizens' patrols at the border
As we wrote on Temat.pl, in the last days along the border with Germany, alleged civic patrols began operating. The groups created by private individuals declare that their aim is to prevent illegal migration from Germany to Poland.
According to the patrol members' coverage, their activities are "monitoring and preventive". They claim that they are observing border roads, forests and trails, which they believe are expected to decision migrants attempting to cross the border beyond authoritative crossings.
Some of them paper their "actions" and print recordings on social media. Members of these groups are frequently associated with the right or bargain the right.
Prime Minister Tusk already spoke on the matter: – You know what they are doing, it is embarrassing from the point of view of all of us. That is why I will anticipate the Border defender and the police to know precisely how this problem can be addressed. This country is liable for the safety of the border, not the groups called by Bąkiewicz.
