"Russia is ready for 1 year after 5 February 2026 to proceed to respect the key numerical limits of the fresh START Treaty", declared Putin. However, he pointed out that further decisions would depend "on an analysis of the situation" and on whether the US would take action to undermine the balance of deterrence.
