The Lithuanian change of law raises opposition in the Kremlin. On Tuesday, September 15, Maria Zacharova referred to the plans of the Lithuanian Sejm, which, thanks to the amendment of the Constitution, would like to let NATO to deploy atomic weapons to the territory of Lithuania. Thus, the Russian MFA spokeswoman joined Dmitri Pieskov and Dmitri Medvedev, who had previously sought to dissuade Lithuania from amending its basic law.
