Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, and Donald Trump, president of the United States, have been talking for a long time about improving bilateral relations. However, according to the British weekly Economist, Putin may effort to deceive Trump by promising him favourable economical relations and geopolitical stableness in exchange for concessions on Ukraine.

According to Economist, Putin offered Trump to halt attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, which could be seen as concessions. However, as the weekly says, it is only a tactical decision that does not change anything about Russian strategical objectives.

Putin wants complete suspension of abroad military and intelligence assistance for Ukraine, as well as halting the mobilisation of troops to the Ukrainian army. This would mean that Ukraine would be deprived of any external assistance, which could lead to the collapse of the Ukrainian State.

Trump, according to the Economist, seems inclined to believe in the imagination put by Putin, which includes favourable economical relations and geopolitical stability. However, as the weekly paper says, this imagination is dangerous due to the fact that it could lead to the destabilisation of Ukraine and the weakening of alliances and values that the US has sought for decades.

According to data from 2022, Russia's economy is smaller than Italy's economy, and besides subject to the whims of despots. That means the chances of a business with Russia are slim. However, according to Economist, Trump may be inclined to ignore these facts if he believes he can accomplish favorable economical agreements with Russia.

With respect to Ukraine, Putin wants to remove the "primary causes" of the conflict, which would mean the end of Ukraine as an independent state. This is simply a dangerous imagination that could lead to the destabilisation of Europe as a whole.

According to data from 2022, over 13,000 people were killed as a consequence of the conflict in Ukraine and over 1.5 million people were displaced. This is the tragic consequences of the conflict, which can be further explored if no effective action is taken.

In terms of sanctions, Russia is more dependent on China than always to be dependent on the US. This means that the sanctions imposed by the West may not have much impact on Russia if they are not supported by China.

In business matters, Russia is simply a tiny marketplace compared to China or the USA. This means that investments in Russia may not be profitable if they are not supported by the State.

With respect to geopolitics, Russia is an crucial player in the region, but it is not the only one. This means that Russia's actions may not have a crucial impact on the stableness of the region if they are not supported by another countries.

On values, the US and Europe share values specified as democracy, freedom and human rights. This means that US and European actions can have a major impact on the stableness of the region if supported by common values.

In conclusion, Russia and the US have different strategical interests and objectives. This means that a compromise between them may not be easy to accomplish if they are not supported by common values and interests.
