Roman Gierty, associate of the Civic Coalition, has so far been unpartisan. He just announced he's joining the Civic Platform. "These days of defeat I decided to set an example," he said.

"These days of failure I have decided to set an example. As you know, I was unpartisan. present I have submitted accession to the Civic Platform," says Gierty in a movie published on Youtube.
"I hope to bring not only a light shade of conservatism, but besides any enthusiasm, dynamics in developing this party, so that it is the backbone on which Polish democracy can be based" - he explains.
Gierty explained that he formally joined the PO on Wednesday, during a gathering of the club KO. He thanked "colleagues and colleagues" for "nice party" and applause.
Much earlier, Gierty was a associate and president of the Polish household League. From 2006 to 2007, as leader of the Polish household League, he was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education in the Government with PiS and Self-defense. He left this group respective years ago. Even before that, he was head of the All-Polish Youth, but formally this organization is not a party.
In the last parliamentary election of 2023, Gierty competed for the Sejm from the list of Civic Coalition in the Kielce District. Recently, he was made to the seat of the minister of justice in place of Adam Bodnar.
