The household of Radio Maryja for the 21st time pilgrimaged to the National Sanctuary of St. Joseph in Kalisz on 3 September 2026. The participants prayed in defence of marriage, household and life, and the central point of the gathering was Mass led by Bishop Arkadiusz Okraj. It is simply a public evidence on the foundations of the Polish social order.

Prayer for Marriage, household and Life

The Radio Maryja household met in Kalisz on 3 September, the first Thursday of the month. As Radio Maryja reported, it was already the 21st pilgrimage of this community to the National Sanctuary of St. Joseph. The intention was made clear: defending marriages, families and human life.

The motto of this year’s gathering was “Holy Joseph, defender our marriages, families and lives!” So it was not a spiritual slogan without content, but a brief indication of responsibility. matrimony needs faithfulness, a household of protection, and a life of respect from the very beginning. These cases cannot be replaced by an authoritative programme or an image campaign.

According to official sanctuary announcements The gathering started at 4 p.m. The programme included the performance of the LUMEN Sacred Music squad under Zbigniew Malkowicz. Pilgrims were greeted by the curator of the sanctuary, Fr. Jacek Plota, after which a service was held in St. Joseph's Chapel.

Eucharist led by the bishop of Toruń

The central point of the pilgrimage was Mass at 6 p.m., presided over by Bishop Arkadiusz Okroj, bishop of Toruń. The gathering arrangement itself showed the appropriate hierarchy: first the community and prayer, then the Eucharist. For Catholics, defending a household is not an addition to faith, but a applicable test in everyday life.

The program besides included a conference devoted to the Servant of God Stanisław Leszczyńska. Her title, “Where life was taken, she protected it”, reminded of a Polish midwife imprisoned in the German Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, who assisted in the birth of fellow prisoners. The conference was to be given by Fr Krzysztof Helik, parish priest of the presumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Łódź. This is simply a strong message of courage with today’s call to defend life.

The subject of the pilgrimage is part of a wider debate about civilization of life and bioethic responsibility. The dispute over life and household is settled in law, school, culture, and in individual decisions. Prayer does not slow down. However, it sets the action on the foundation, which cannot be moved freely along with another ideological fashion.

Family is simply a public matter

Modern propaganda frequently attempts to close marriage, rise children, and have religion in a completely private sphere. It's convenient for those who want to have social life without permanent standards. However, the household bears the consequences of decisions by the state, school program, economical situation and cultural transfer. Her condition determines the future of the nation.

Therefore, public prayer in Kalisz besides matters outside the sanctuary walls. It shows that there are people in Poland who are willing to talk openly about matrimony as a relation between a female and a man, about liable parenting and about the dignity of life. No screaming. No shame.

A akin Community nature announced pilgrimage of families to Krzeszów. specified meetings remind that religion remains a surviving part of the Polish identity, and the household is not a relic of the past. It is the first place of upbringing, solidarity and work for another man.

The Kaliska pilgrimage set things straight. A nation that does not defend household and life weakens its own future. The defence of these values starts with a conscience, but cannot end with a private declaration.
