Anniversary of the liberation of the capital

Yesterday there were celebrations related to the liberation of Warsaw in 1945. The celebrations were held, among others, at the Memorial of 1st Army of the Polish Army, at the Mausoleum of russian Soldiers, and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Warsawians besides met a place where General Sigismund Berling's monument was destroyed.

Representatives of the embassies of Russia and Belarus took part in the celebrations that brought together respective twelve people at the russian Soldiers Mausoleum. Many socio-political organizations were present from the Polish side, specified as the Association of the Constituents of planet War II, the Polish Left Movement, Safe Poland or the Polish thought Club sympathizers. The crowns and flowers were folded. Ambassador of the Federation of Russian Sergei Andreyev reminded the gathered about the blood shed of a russian soldier fighting a Nazi invader. Among the speakers were Colonel Tadeusz Kowalczyk (Association of the Inheritance of the Kombatants of planet War II), Piotr Panasiuk (Safe Poland), Zbigniew Kaźmierczyk (Polish Left Movement) and Roland Dubowski (Polish thought Club – Białystok)
Many Kombatant organizations together laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Representatives of the Polish People's organization and Warsaw Labour Union were present. In later hours during the session of the Sejm, Jarosław Rzepa, who together with Krzysztof Paszek, asked another Members why they were not present at the celebrations dedicated to the liberation of Warsaw. This has resulted in many rude attacks in the Sejm itself, as well as in social media from "solidarised combatants".

The Warsawers laid flowers at the site where General Berling's monument stood, which was destroyed by a group centered around erstwhile MP KPN Adam Słomka in 2019. Flowers and candles besides appeared at the Nike Warsaw Memorial, the Tadeusz Kościuszko 1st Infantry Division Memorial and the 1st Polish Army Memorial.
