As all year, before the anniversary of the execution of residents of Ostrówka and Wola Ostrowiecka in Volyn on 30 August 1943 by Ukrainian nationalists from OUN UPA Dr. Leon Popek with a group of friends arranged a cemetery in Ostrówków. 1 of the participants was a typical of Solidarnych 2010 from Lublin. Below is simply a short photograph study from Ostrówków and a photograph of the renovated 2 figures of Our woman Ostrowiecka.

The inhabitants of Ostrówek and Wola Ostrówcka have always been Poles and Catholics. According to tradition, they were brought to Volyn from Mazowsza by King Władysław Jagiello. They spoke the Masurian Gwara in Polish and were called Masurias.[Leon Popek, the Holocaust of Ostrówek and Wola Ostrowiecka / stophistory.pl:]
During respective 100 years of their existence in Volyn (actually on Chełm's Land), Poles from Ostrówek and Wola Ostrowiecka maintained national, linguistic, spiritual and moral purity. Despite the pressures, especially in the time of their captivity, they did not succumb to rusification and did not betray the religion of their ancestors. They were always faithful to the Roman Catholic Church.
On 30 August 1943, both villages and more than 30 another localities in the Lublin area were burned down, and the Polish population murdered by OUN-UPA troops. Historians calculate that about 2.5 1000 Poles were killed at the time.
Cleaned and painted tombstones, fresh concrete and steel crosses erected, grubbed trunks after cut trees. The won leaves and branches, the cleaned burnt candles, the renewed chapel of Our Lady. Renewed 2 figures of Our woman Ostrowiecka.

And all in 4 days and in 22 persons he invited, as all year to Ostrówk in Volyn, Dr. Leon Popek on 21-24 August 2024.

It is worth recalling that on 30 August 1943 Ukrainian nationalists from the OUN UPA brutally murdered about 1,500 inhabitants of Ostrówków and Wola Ostrowiecka. In 1 day 2 villages disappeared, the beginning of which dates back to the 16th century. The buildings were plundered and subsequently burned. There's no sign of them today.

The works at the cemetery in Ostrówków were attended by 1 of the Solidary 2010 from Lublin, who sent this report.
