Road accidents in Poland: a dramatic example of driver responsibility

Road accidents are 1 of the biggest social problems in Poland. According to data published by the Police, in 2020 there were 34,553 accidents on Polish roads, in which 3,173 people died and 41,412 were injured. Saturday night, the bus driver was stopped by the police. According to the police headquarters, he had nearly 2 proms of alcohol in his body, which was an additional crime.

On Monday, prosecutor Piotr Skiba, spokesperson for the territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw, informed of the request for temporary arrest for the suspect. "It has been established that there are circumstantial conditions for the application of the preventive measure, specified as fear of tampering, fear of hiding and threat of severe punishment," said Skiba.
