PARIS- Riyadh Air (RX) orders 25 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft at the Paris Air Show 2025, with the deal potentially extending to 50 aircraft. The announcement was made at Le Bourget Airport (LBG).

This move establishes Riyadh Air as the first Saudi airline to operate the A350-1000, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s (RUH) aviation ambitions under Vision 2030, which targets 300 million annual air passengers by decade’s end.

The order of 25 Airbus A350-1000 marks a foundational step in Riyadh Air’s (RX) strategy to become a leading global carrier.

Backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Riyadh Air aims to redefine premium international travel and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global aviation hub.

The agreement was signed during the 2025 Paris Air Show by senior executives, including H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of PIF, Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, and Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air.

Their collective presence underscores the strategic weight of this partnership.

Adam Boukadida, CFO, Riyadh Air, emphasized the significance of the order, noting that the A350-1000’s efficiency and long-range capabilities align perfectly with the airline’s sustainability goals and premium service standards.

The aircraft will help Riyadh Air deliver on its promise to connect Saudi Arabia to global destinations with unmatched comfort and reliability.

One of the Most Advanced Aircraft

The Airbus A350-1000 stands out as the world’s most advanced and efficient widebody aircraft.

With an industry-leading range, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort, it is an optimal choice for long-haul operations. It is currently the longest-range commercial aircraft in production.

Airbus’ Executive VP of Sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, highlighted the A350-1000’s role in Riyadh Air’s growth and Vision 2030 goals, stating the aircraft will significantly enhance global connectivity and economic diversification for Saudi Arabia.

Aligned with sustainability trends, the A350-1000 is already certified to fly with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Further, Airbus is committed to making all its aircraft 100% SAF compatible by 2030.

Global Orders and Market Impact

As of May 2025, the Airbus A350 Family has recorded over 1,390 orders from more than 60 customers worldwide.

Of these, 657 aircraft are currently in service across various global carriers, operating on short, medium, and long-haul routes.

Riyadh Air’s order not only signals confidence in Airbus’s technology but also sets a precedent in the Middle East for fleet modernization focused on sustainability, performance, and passenger experience.
