Revolution in Military Infrastructure

Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, taking over the Ministry of Defence a year ago, received a map from his predecessor with marked units – already formed and planned to be created, mostly located in towns east of the Vistula River. The fresh head of the MON decided to proceed creating the 18th Mechanized Division, complementing the 16th Mechanized Division and forming the 1st Legion Infantry Division and the 8th AK Infantry Division. Political and strategical ambitions have been confirmed and partially covered in staff documents.

In 2023, almost PLN 5 billion was reserved for contracts for architectural offices, plan offices, surveyors and construction companies in the construction task plan, developed by the Management Board of task Planning SGWP. This was twice as large as 2 years earlier. Since then, the amounts allocated to infrastructure improvement tasks have been steadily increasing. The plan of financing military infrastructure for 2024 provided for the release of PLN 7.2 billion, and next year for documentation preparation as well as works in the ground and concrete infrastructure managements, airport branches, universities and R & D institutes, as well as WOG-i will be able to spend PLN 7.5 billion. That's 5 times more than in 2018.

I'm sorry I'm empathizing with numbers. Many of them and they are besides large, but they show how the military is catching up with infrastructure back in the erstwhile 40 years and how they are preparing to accept equipment and ammunition ordered since 2022. By beginning a fresh front – construction – the armed forces de facto execute as a full the command "back turn". From the embodiment to the West, inherited from the times of the Warsaw Pact, they now face the East. Although the erstwhile barracks are besides being expanded, this is happening in the shadow of greenfield investments (i.e. in undeveloped areas, agro-forest areas) and brownfield (post-industrial parcels), launched along the full east border: from Oleck by Augustów, Siemiatycze, Biała Podlaska, Włodawa, Chełm, Zamość by Jarosław, Żurawica, Sanok. There are facilities for tankers, mechanized, bomb squads, reconnaissance and anti-aircraft defense. A small closer to Vistulaes are built or expanded logistics warehouses, divisional staffs, artillery units and radio technicians. The heart grows when, after years of military service in permanent investment collapse, construction sites are seen, where facilities are created to supply proper, safe and dignified conditions for the service and training of soldiers, as well as the retention and work with equipment worth billions.

RECLAMA

As a individual born in the east of Poland, remembering the Augustine army inactive in the 1980s, I am glad to see the increasing presence of soldiers in Podlasie, Lublin and Podkarpacie. In addition to a greater sense of safety for residents of these areas, it is besides crucial to make fresh jobs and attract young people to the army. The East, connected with the remainder of the country with convenient high-speed routes, is no longer Polish B or C. Thanks to the investments launched over the decade, it will be an avant-garde military capacity of our homeland. I want to root for this trial on the portal.
