This work, written in Latin, was translated into Polish in 1937. The book is simply a fresh cover of the 1937 edition. This edition, in addition to the Polish translation of the Christian in the Talmud, included an extended introduction and the Latin first of the work. This reprint covers only the Polish part of the above edition.

Note about author

Fr Justyn Bonawentura Pranajis was born on 27 July 1861 in the village of Ponienupie in the territory of Władysławów, the then state of Suwałska. He studied simple sciences in Łukszach and then in Gryszkawodzie. He was educated in Mariampolska mediate school, and in 1878 he joined the seminary in Sejny and from 1883 he studied at the spiritual Academy in St. Petersburg. 3 years later, he was ordained a priest.

After graduation, he received a cathedral of Hebrew at his home university. He was considered an excellent Hebrew and the best student of the Talmud at the time. In addition, he was a prof. of liturgy and church singing while holding the dignity of the prefect of the Academy.

In 1895, he was deported as a political criminal to exile to Tver in connection with patriotic activity. Upon returning, he again took up the cathedral of Hebrew.

In addition to his technological work, Fr. In 1902, he left the spiritual Academy and took the position of pastor of Tashkent and at the same time of Turkestan. He died in a infirmary in St. Petersburg on 28 January 1917 as a consequence of poisoning. At the request of the parishioners, his temporal remains were buried in Tashkent.
