Report: all another kid has contact with pornography

Children and young people spend more than 4 hours a day online. all second young individual uses pornographic services - according to the study "The net of Children" presented during the Tuesday conference in the Sejm.


The study was based on data provided by Polish investigation companies net investigation and Gemius utilizing standardized tools to measurement the net in Poland.

"We believe that this data will no longer let us to say that «children on the net are gone, so we can close this topic»," said the president of the Foundation Institute of Digital Citizenship Magdalena Bigaj during the Tuesday conference presenting the report.

"Fair rules"

According to the report, almost 90 percent of people between 7 and 14 years of age spend 4 hours and 8 minutes a day on the Internet. Children log in to the network primarily on smartphones (90%), which usage streaming and social platforms – including of the most popular TikToka (about 2 hours a day).

The first login is usually in the morning, before school. The last, especially for teenagers aged 15-18, close to 11:00 p.m. and on weekends even after midnight.

Almost 10 minutes each day, young people usage pornographic services – half of the net users aged 7-14 have contact with specified content.

According to the chair of the Parliamentary Commission on Children and Youth Monica Rosy, there are "apparent rules" in the network. "Just declare that you are 13 or 18 and the planet is open to us" said Rosa.

Amendments needed

According to Michał Gramatyka's deputy digitization minister, the data presented during the conference indicate that "something to do with it."

"On Thursday, the Sejm will deal with the first time a citizen's bill to defend children from pornography. This task is signed by Ordo Iuris, but it touches 1 of the most crucial elements you have touched in your speeches," he said. "There is besides a draft government bill on the legislative table, which is included in the registry of legislative acts conducted by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers," he added.

He stressed that the task was aimed at the introduction of age verification by providers of pornographic content.

According to Monica Rosa's assurances the activity of children and adolescents is to be continuously monitored and reported all six months.

The "Children's Internet" study was created through the cooperation of the Digital Citizenship Institute Foundation with the Anti-Sex Action Commission on the usage of Minors, Polish net investigation and Gemius.
