PKP CARGO S.A. signed a contract on Wednesday to acquisition the property after the erstwhile Wagon mill Gniewczyn in Gniewczyna Łańcucka close Przeworska in Podkarpacie. The railway company wants to produce freight wagons.
The national freight carrier purchased 33 ha of land from the Slovak company Forespo, on which there are mill halls of 4 ha. The property besides includes 7.5 km of tracks. The value of the contract is about PLN 33 million.
The transaction culminates in more than a year and a half of efforts to redeem the assets after the mill in Gniewczyń, in order to resume production of freight wagons. Real property acquisition opens the way for talks with possible business partners about the company's establishment. The next step will be to invest in the reconstruction of production assets and start production.
We want to rebuild the production capacity of Polish industry. The mill in Wrath is simply a good example. It is simply a plant in a region where the traditions of the railway manufacture are rich and we can now reconstruct them. It is very good that companies with State Treasury participation are active in the process of reindustrialisation. Ta good transaction on maps of Podkarpacie and Poland, an example of active government policy towards repolonization and reindustrialisation. By 2015, the share of national capital in the economy was estimated at 39 percent. This is simply a low share in Europe. Today, we turn these trends around..
