On Sunday Russia carried out a massive attack on Kiev and the vicinity of the capital, resulting in 4 deaths, and about a 100 civilians were injured. The Russian abroad Ministry had previously announced the launch of a series of scheduled hits for military and industrial purposes in the city, while recommending foreigners and diplomatic posts to leave Kiev quickly. In response, Poland, like another countries, called on the Russian ambassador and presented his position to him towards these announcements, which the Russian side referred to as warnings.

MFA spokesperson Maciej Wewiór addressed the situation:

There can be no consent. We are very clear that since Russia, as it declares itself, does not wage war, it is simply a peculiar war operation that means that the scope of these targets should be limited to military ones. But Russia has shown its approach many times.

And attacks on any another infrastructure including diplomatic representations should and will be treated as hostile acts – added the Phantom. – Russian threats or possible actions then undermine its function as states in the UN safety Council. Therefore, the Ambassador has heard a very strong call from us to immediately halt unjustified and unlawful aggression and to comply with global commitments and treaties.

The MFA spokesperson explained that the Ambassador had not met with the Minister, due to the fact that specified talks seldom take place at this level, and noted that he had accepted the position of Poland. He besides added that the ministry's activities were agreed with European partners who took akin steps towards Russian diplomats.

Russia's Appeal to Foreigners

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russia carried out an extended fire of the Ukrainian capital, using, among others, the hypersonic ballistic rocket Oriesznik. This was the 3rd usage of this weapon, which, according to Moscow, can be equipped with atomic warheads.
