
As part of the ongoing election campaign, Rafał Trzaskowski visited Podlaski Puńsk, where he met with local voters. He gave a speech, during which he called on the government to amend the laws on Ukrainians' collection in Poland under the 800 plus programme.
– As for benefits specified as 800 plus for Ukrainians, they should be entitled to it if they work here, live here and pay taxes. I call on the government to work on a change of law so that specified a request can be taken into account – declared the president of Warsaw.

Trzaskowski argued that Poland has helped Ukrainians “from the very beginning”, and this aid should inactive be sustained. However, he stressed that the presence of refugees in our country should bring us any benefits.

– The vast majority of Ukrainians work in Poland and contribute to our economy growing. That's precisely the point. We should not repeat the mistakes of another EU countries, we should set a policy that pays off, due to the fact that that is what our citizens anticipate – said Trzaskowski.
The candidate of the Citizen Coalition for president stressed that Polish abroad policy should be based on the rule of “everything we do must be worth our while”. "If we are talking about security, it should be absolutely clear that Ukraine, as part of the West, is simply worth it to us. I think that no 1 has any doubt, from those sitting in the hall, that the Ukrainians are fighting for our safety – he ruled.
Rafał Trzaskowski hits Karol Nawrocki
Rafał Trzaskowski besides mentioned the words of his counter-candidate Karol Nawrocki concerning Ukraine's presence in NATO and the European Union. The president of the IPN had previously convinced on Polsat News that he did not see our neighbour in the European Union and NATO before the issue of the Volyn crime was settled.

Trzaskowski admitted that although he had small connection with president Andrzej Duda, erstwhile it came to the affiliation of Ukraine to the Western world, they always spoke with 1 voice.
