Rafał Dorosiński Ordo Iuris: The Sejm wants censorship
date:21 December 2024 Editor: Anna

Ladies and gentlemen,
On Thursday, there was a parliamentary vote on a government draft law prohibiting “hate speech”. The project, which will consequence in the introduction of the sex strategy of censorship and repression in Poland, was not rejected at first reading and went to further work in the Sejm committee. Ordo Iuris' efforts to defend the right to fact and freedom of speech are becoming more crucial present than always before.

The course of the Thursday debate on the task leaves no uncertainty as to what the authors are talking about. Government representatives and Members supporting the bill have repeatedly said that they are referring to a circumstantial "protection" of LGBT communities and those with sex identity disorders. In practice, the fresh law aims to legally favour these groups at the expense of the overwhelming majority of Poles – it will no longer be possible to criticise the extremist ideological demands of the LGBT movement under the threat of 3 years in prison.

We will do our best to convince parliamentarians to reject the Censorial Act at second reading. However, if the bill is passed, we will press the president of Poland to veto it urgently. We will besides request a clear message of opposition to ideological censorship from all candidates in the next year's presidential election.

Already now, thanks to the aid of the Donors and Friends of Ordo Iuris, we have become an intellectual base of the social movement to defend freedom of speech. This was clearly demonstrated by yesterday's parliamentary debate. Many opposed to the Censorial Act of Members cited arguments for rejecting the task that Ordo Iuris provided to all parliamentarians in the memorandum and in our many publications on the subject.

Members pointed out, among another things, that the sex bill strikes the concept of gender, derived from its definition from the Istanbul Convention, according to which sex is not an nonsubjective biological fact, but a fluid social construct that can be freely shaped. They claimed that on the occasion of almost identical draft laws, which were submitted in erstwhile terms, The ultimate Court pointed to their incompatibility with the law. They besides cited the examples mentioned in our publications that the Western conflict against “the speech of hatred” is in practice ideological censorship against conservatives and Christians.

What Poland will look like after the ban on “talk of hate” can be read in Ordo Iuris’s book “Speak of hatred – A TROJAŃSKI Cultural Revolution”, which I am the author.
I have extensively described the process of establishing sex censorship in the name of combating “hate”. I encourage you to buy it and read it.

With respect
Rafał Dorosiński Ordo Iuris
