The memory of victims of crimes in Puzio Doła, soldiers of the National Army and National Armed Forces and civilians was commemorated in the Potok-States in Lublin. The celebrations were held on 19 April, on the 82nd anniversary of the execution by the Communist People's Army. Among the people kidnapped at the time was a local parish priest.
Crime 82 years old
In the spring of 1944, on April 19, a division of the communist People's Army invaded the colony of Potok-Stona and neighboring villages. Fourteen people were kidnapped then, who were taken to the Puddle Downs and murdered there. 1 of the detainees was a priest, a local parish priest.
The crime forms part of the dark chapter of the war which the communists conducted in the Polish countryside before the end of the German occupation. The mark were soldiers of the independency underground, NSZ and AK, and supporting their population. The attackers didn't fight the Germans. They hit Poles who stood in the way of building the imposed order.
Celebrations in the Stream-States
After eighty-two years, the memory of the murdered returned to the same place. On April 19th, in the Potok-States, celebrations were held in honor of the victims. They were attended by representatives of the communist and national communities, including the Union of National Armed Forces Soldiers.
Such celebrations are not a ritual for the ritual itself. They remind that the communist camera from the beginning fought those who wanted Poland free and sovereign. The names of the perpetrators and victims for decades of PRL were erased from authoritative history.
Memory Against Silence
The death in Puzi Dołach has long remained an uncomfortable subject. In a country whose foundation was the same ideology in which they were killed, specified crimes were not mentioned. Only after 1989 could they be commemorated without censorship.
Today, the work to remember rests on generations to come. The Puzi Downs victims didn't die by accident. They were killed due to the fact that they belonged to a nation that refused to be sovietized. Their death remains an accusation against the strategy that ordered this crime and hid it for years.
