Despite many sanctions imposed on Moscow by the European Union and the US, the war between Russia and Ukraine is becoming increasingly violent. Six calls in fresh months about the ceasefire between Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump did not change that. “We ignore the fact that the Russian side is utilizing these negotiations as part of its war strategy,” says military analyst Colonel Markus Reisner of the Ministry of Defence in Vienna.
