Putin sets the terms

Vladimir Putin presented 7 conditions for ending the war on the eve of the alleged peace conference in Switzerland, organised at the initiative of Ukraine. Here they are:

  1. Ukraine should become an uninvolved and neutral state. This means no accession to NATO or another military-political structures.
  2. Status of Ukraine free of atomic weapons. The country must forever renounce its intention to have or deploy atomic weapons in its territory.
  3. Demilitarisation and denasification of Ukraine should be carried out. "This is our primary position," Putin explained. "Moreover, everyone mostly agreed with these demands during the talks in Istanbul in 2022. Everything was set there, even the number of tanks, everything was agreed."
  4. All sanctions imposed by the West on Russia must be abolished.
  5. Recognition by Russia of Crimea, Sevastopol, DRL, LRL, Zaporozhia and Khersonia. Moreover, this status, according to Putin, should be established in global treaties.
  6. The crucial issue is that Ukraine must retreat its troops from all Donbas territories and the Kherson region with Zaporozh. "As shortly as Kiev launches the actual withdrawal of troops from these regions and officially announces its refusal to join NATO, we will immediately order a ceasefire and start negotiations. We'll do it now. Of course, we warrant safe and unfettered withdrawal of Ukrainian units and formations," Putin promised.
  7. And another condition. "Of course, the rights, freedoms and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine must be full ensured," Putin said.

Putin warned that their rejection would later make specified proposals, beneficial for Ukraine, no longer.
