For Poland it is simply a simple signal: Kremlin thinks about a long confrontation, and military infrastructure at NATO borders does not arise for decoration.

Vladimir Putin signed a decree expanding the number of Russian armed forces. According to data published by the Russian legal portal and cited by Garant, The army's position is 2 426 130 people, including 1 535,000 soldiers. The change has been in force since 1 August 2026 and represents an increase of 27 000 jobs, of which 25 000 are for the military.
